The situation

A standing start

Garden UK launched in early 2026 as a UK gardening directory and editorial site: garden centres, nurseries, plant suppliers, plus longer-form articles on garden design and wildlife gardening. Domain registered fresh. No prior site, no aged authority, no legacy backlinks. The starting position on day one was Ahrefs DR 0, 27 referring domains (mostly directory boilerplate), and zero ranking keywords.

We wanted to prove the GeoLinks Authority MVP works in the hardest scenario an agency can hand you: a brand new site that needs to get out of the sandbox fast and start ranking somewhere meaningful inside the first month.

01. Directory pages built to local intent

We shipped hundreds of city- and venue-level directory pages targeting specific local queries: "Crawley garden centre", "Longcombe Nursery and Garden Centre", "B&Q Meir Park". Each page carries unique on-page content, embedded maps, opening hours, and links into editorial articles in the same cluster.

02. Editorial cluster around the directory

Garden design, wildlife gardening, and growing guides written to the same Gold Standard spec we use for paying clients. GEO summary above the fold, F-S-A pattern, FAQ schema, named author. Articles link to directory pages, directory pages link back to articles. The cluster reads as one topic, not a brochure with a blog stapled on.

03. Tier S authority links via the GeoLinks Authority workflow

We drip-fed brand-anchor links from DR 90+ Google-owned properties (Blogger network) and from real, traffic-vetted UK gardening blogs. No PBNs, no expired domains, no marketplace spam. The 27 to 149 referring domain jump in 30 days is the result.

04. Internal linking and submission

Trailing-slash discipline on every internal URL, 5 to 8 internal links per article, IndexNow submission on every push. Pages get indexed within hours, not weeks, and the cluster signal accumulates faster than it would on a wait-and-see site.

Being honest about the numbers

A foundation, not a finish line

21 monthly organic visits in month one is small in absolute terms. We are not pretending otherwise. What matters is what those 21 visits represent: a brand new domain with no history is already on page one for multiple commercial UK queries, indexed at scale, and carrying a DR 15 backlink profile that took 30 days to build.

On the same trajectory, the curve compounds. The Greenhouse Stores trajectory (a sister site using the same method) reached 6,370 monthly visits inside 7 months from a similar starting point. Month one is the foundation, not the finish line.
